How is industrial heritage used in modern cities? How important is the concept of reuse in the urban landscape? Which European gas production plants are currently used as cultural and technological sites?

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, the Industrial Gas Museum, in cooperation with the Civil Non-Profit Company “Vault of Industrial Digital Archives” (V.I.D.A.), co-organise at the Technopolis City of Athens a one-day conference under the title “Gas-working together: New perspectives” on the reuse of gas plants in Europe, with the participation of speakers from Greece and abroad. The conference is organised in the context of the 10th anniversary of the Industrial Gas Museum, thus inaugurating a festive year and foreshadowing a series of events that will follow on the occasion.

Τα πιο αγαπημένα υπαίθρια εικαστικά παιχνίδια επιστρέφουν στο Βιομηχανικό Μουσείο Φωταερίου και… «Στην αυλή του εργοστασίου»! Oι μικροί μας φίλοι (3 ετών και άνω) απασχολούνται δημιουργικά, έρχονται σε επαφή με την τέχνη πέρα από το πλαίσιο ενός εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος και πειραματίζονται με μικτές τεχνικές και νέους τρόπους έκφρασης, κάθε φορά με μια διαφορετική θεματική. Έτσι, την Κυριακή 25 Οκτωβρίου, με ανακυκλώσιμα υλικά, κατασκευάζουμε την πιο φθινοπωρινή μακέτα και ότι πάρει ο άνεμος...Ετοιμαστείτε για μια απολαυστική εικαστική περιπέτεια... στην αυλή του εργοστασίου!

Τι μας έλειψε πιο πολύ το διάστημα που μείναμε σπίτι; Το παιχνίδι, οι φίλοι και η ξεγνοιασιά; Το καλοκαίρι πλησιάζει και το αγαπημένο Summer Camp έρχεται για 7η συνεχόμενη χρονιά στην Τεχνόπολη για να προσφέρει στα παιδιά, από 7 έως 11 ετών, όλα όσα τους έλειψαν, μέσα από την πιο δροσερή καλοκαιρινή εμπειρία χαράς, γέλιου, δημιουργικής γνώσης, φαντασίας και, φυσικά, φιλίας! 

H Τεχνόπολη Δήμου Αθηναίων και το Βιομηχανικό Μουσείο Φωταερίου, σε συνεργασία με το εργαστήριο παραστατικών τεχνών Artfygio, διοργανώνουν από τις 29 Ιουνίου έως και τις 17 Ιουλίου 2020 ένα πλούσιο εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα που έχει στόχο να προσφέρει στα παιδιά ξέγνοιαστες στιγμές ψυχαγωγίας, με πρώτιστη μέριμνα την ασφάλεια και την υγεία τους.

“Sundays for kids”, the beloved institution that dynamically came back this March, will be available for the audience, the families with kids between 4 and 11 years old, and fully accessible online with a series of exciting activities!

This Sunday the 12th of April, under the theme “Athens for all”, is dedicated to the city of Athens for two important reasons: the Industrial Gas Museum wishes to honour this way the anniversary of the International Day of Monuments and Sites which is celebrated every year on the 18th of April and also, commemorate the innovative educational program of the City of Athens Kids for the city which this year celebrates four years of activities and has highlighted the monuments and the landmarks of the city through the eyes of the young students of Athens.
